TROUBLESHOOTING

Any of the following fail to light: headlight (high beam), headlight (low beam), high beam indicator light,
taillight, license light, position light, meter light or accessory light (OPTION).
NOTE:
• Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s):
1. Rider seat
2. Tool kit tray
3. Headlight assembly
1. Check the condition of each bulb
and bulb socket.
Refer to "CHECKING THE BULBS
AND BULB SOCKETS" on page
7-74.

2. Check the fuses.
(Main, headlight, signaling system,
taillight and ECU (for XV19S(C)/
XV19M(C)/ XV19CTS(C)/
XV19CTM(C)))
Refer to "CHECKING THE FUS-
ES" on page 7-75.

3. Check the battery.
Refer to "CHECKING AND
CHARGING THE BATTERY" on
page 7-76.

4. Check the main switch.
Refer to "CHECKING THE
SWITCHES" on page 7-71.

5. Check the dimmer switch.
Refer to "CHECKING THE
SWITCHES" on page 7-71.

6. Check the accessory light switch.
Refer to "CHECKING THE
SWITCHES" on page 7-71.

7. Check the headlight relay.
Refer to "CHECKING THE RE-
LAYS" on page 7-79.

Replace the bulb(s) and bulb socket(s).
NG →
Replace the fuse(s).
NG →
• Clean the battery terminals.
• Recharge or replace the battery.
NG →
Replace the main switch.
NG →
The dimmer switch is faulty. Replace the
left handlebar switch.
NG →
The accessory light switch is faulty. Re-
place the right handlebar switch.
NG →
Replace the headlight relay.
