Carrying, Storing and Transporting Your Outboard When Removed From
Boat
Transport and store the outboard only as shown. Otherwise, engine damage or property damage could result
from leaking oil.
1.
With the outboard still in the water, disconnect the remote fuel line and run engine until it stops. This will
drain fuel from the carburetor. Install the protector cap over the fuel connector.

Remove outboard and hold it upright until the water is drained out. Keep the outboard in an upright position
when carrying.
3.
Carry, transport or store the outboard only in one of the four positions shown. These positions will prevent
oil from draining out of the crankcase.
