Overview

The WLL-RX55 is a receiver for a wireless camera system
that transmits MPEG-2 video and audio in the 2.4 GHz
band.
It consists of a pair of receiving antennas, a pair of down-
converters, and a pair of receiving units.

Features

Robust transmission, thanks to COFDM IC
system
Thanks to Sony's newly developed COFDM IC for
modulation, the unit lets you configure a robust
transmission system resistant to multipath fading.
COFDM: Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing
Compact and lightweight
The WLL-RX55 contains two receiving systems with an
MPEG decoder in its compact (half width of 19-inch 3U
rack) and light body.
Diversity reception
As it contains two receiving systems, it is possible to
configure a diversity reception system with a single WLL-
RX55.
Combined use of multiple receivers can establish more
stable transmission, covering a wider area.
Time-interleaving function built in
Thanks to the time-interleaving technology, the WLL-
RX55 is a power tool for mobile transmission.
Two way powering
The unit accepts not only AC power supply but can also
operate on external DC for your convenience.
Scramble function built in
The built-in scramble function enables security during
transmission.
Outputs of various formats
In addition to serial digital, video output in analog format
is available. Audio can be output by embedding into digital
video or as analog audio signals.
Organic EL display and jog dial
High operability is achieved with the compact design. The
readouts are highly legible even in cold weather.
When the WLL-CA50/CA55 wireless camera transmitter
and an optional wireless microphone system are used in
combination, the following functions are also available:
Tally/Intercom signals for the camera
Tally and intercom signals (tally only with the WLL-
CA50) can be transmitted to the camera (see "System
Configuration Examples").
Wireless camera control
Connecting an optional remote control panel or remote
control unit enables wireless camera control.
GENLOCK function
The necessary system delay is minimized by supplying a
reference signal for external synchronization to the WLL-
RX55. (This function is invalid with the WLL-CA50.)
