3 Select Create Rescue Media and click Continue.
4 Select the USB thumb drive you inserted into your computer.
5 Click Continue.
6 After the process of creating your rescue media has completed, a status window appears. Click OK.
NOTE
Be sure to keep the rescue media in a safe place. Do not use the rescue media USB drive to copy other files.

Perform a system backup (Windows)

For system backup on Windows, your CANVIO HOME supports NTFS, FAT32, and the new GUID formats. Other system
formats are not supported or have not been tested.
NOTE
If you have a drive with multiple partitions and one or more of the partitions are in an unsupported format, you cannot perform a
full system backup of the drive.
1 From the main menu, click the Full System Backup
2 Select Complete PC Backup and click Continue.
3 (Optional) To create a password for the backup, do the following:

Check the Create a password for the backup box.
v
To view the password while you are entering it, check the View Password box.
v
Enter your password, and then enter it again to confirm.
NOTE
The password can be up to 16 characters in length, and can include uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
5 Click Continue.
6 When the backup process has completed, a status window appears. Click OK.
NOTE
You cannot back up files that are encrypted on your computer. If you try to back up files and they do not appear in your CANVIO
HOME, make sure you have file encryption turned off.
