Constructional design and functions
Modular construction
The control unit comprises a basic unit,
electronic modules and a programming
unit.
The control unit contains:
Heating system switch, emissions test
switch, comfort switch (only on gas com
bination boiler), electronic maximum
temperature limiter, limit thermostat (DIN
Reg. No. DIN TW 110898S, in the burner
control unit LGM 29.XX), microcomputer,
facilities for setting switching times, tem
peratures in normal and reduced oper
ation, domestic hot water temperature,
adjustment of the heating curves, tem
perature scans, built-in diagnosis system
and fuses.
Boiler-specific functions
The control unit adjusts the boiler water
temperature (=flow temperature of a direct-
connected heating circuit and/or a heating
circuit with mixer in conjunction with the
extension kit for a heating circuit with
mixer) automatically and continuously to
the particular outdoor temperature. It has a
hot water cylinder control with priority con
trol of domestic hot water heating (heating
circuit pump off).
To comply with current energy-saving re
gulations, thermostatic valves should be
used for controlling the temperature in the
individual rooms.

Frost protection function
The frost protection function is active in
all heating programs.
The frost protection function is
H switched on when the outdoor tempera
ture falls below approx. +1 °C.
In the frost protection function, the
heating circuit pump is switched on and
the boiler water is kept at a minimum
temperature of approx. 20 °C.
H switched off when the outdoor tem
perature rises above approx. +3 °C.
