Turn the Power Off
Initial Setup

Press the power standby switch on the front panel.
When the power standby switch is pressed, the internal mechanism moves
to the predetermined position, then the power enters the standby state.
When the message on the right
appears, the library does not turn off
automatically.

pressing the power switch on the
rear.
Notes
• Even though pressing the rear power switch can turn off the library power,
following the above steps is recommended.
• To avoid pressing the power standby switch by accident, you can disable the
power standby switch. For information on how to disable the swtich, refer to
"Disabling the Buttons on the Front Panel" (page 44).
• After turning the AIT library power off, wait at least 10 seconds before
turning it on again.
Once the library has started, perform the initial setup as follows:

Set the date and time. (page 23)

Set the SCSI IDs of the AIT library and AIT drives if necessary. (page 24)

Set the cartridges. (page 25)
4
Configure the application programs on the host computer for use with the
unit.
Follow the instructions given in the application software manual to set up
the software for the library.

Connect to a network if necessary. (page 28)
