key combinations on a direct dial or speed dial key.
14.12 Special messages on the display

Please wait approx. 2 minutes until all the data on the SIM card has
been processed by the phone.
Please check whether the SIM card is properly fitted and the holder
closed.
Older SIM cards (before 2002) can cause problems when the phone
is switched on. SIM card suppliers will normally exchange new cards
for old ones free of charge.
Check whether you are still receiving an error message by using the
SIM card from another network operator.
Note
There may be a problem with the battery or with the connection leads.
Please check the battery and replace, if necessary.
Note
Follow the instructions in Chapter 14.10. If the error persists, please
refer to Chapter 15 F.
Garbled text message
Someone is sending you a text message with special characters or
an MMS (text message with images), which cannot be read by the
phone. This can also occur when using an old SIM card (see above).
Note
If you have inserted a SIM card which also works in other mobile
phones, this mobile phone will display "112 call only". Please re-insert
the SIM card correctly. Please check using another SIM card, pref-
erably one from another network operator. Check the SIM card holder
(i.e. the part that flips up) for damage.
