4. MAILBOX (ITU-T COMPATIBLE)

Mailbox is the function to communicate between Faxes with the mailbox function and allows storage and
retrieval of documents via mailboxes that are already set up. There are 3 types: Confidential Box, Bulletin
Board Box and Multi-Address Relay Mail.
In order to carry out ITU-T communications, you must previously set up an Open Mailbox in the mailbox
hub. You can set up a maximum of 300 mailboxes for the 3 types listed above in total. The passwords can
be set for all the mailboxes to protect the confidentiality.
- Confidential Box:
Confidential Box allows a one-time document retrieval from the mailbox.
Once a document is retrieved, it is cleared. If a new document is stored using the same box number
where another document is present, it is added to the existing box number. It is also possible to set up a
password requirement for accessing the Confidential Box for document retrieval to prevent unauthorized
retrieval of documents.
- Bulletin Board Box:
Bulletin Board Box allows multiple document retrievals from the mailbox.
Once a document is retrieved, it is not cleared. If a new document is stored using the same Box number
where another is present, it replaces the existing one. It is also possible to set up a password requirement
for accessing the Bulletin Board Box for document reservation.
- Multi-Address Relay Mail:
The Fax with the mailbox function sends the original(s) by specifying the Relay Mail Box of the Relay
Station and this Relay Station, which receives this job, sends the original(s) to the remote Fax registered
in the Relay Mail Box.
The sender which specifies the relay is named Relay Originator, the relaying Fax is named Relay Station
and the Fax of the final destination is named Relay Destination. The Relay Station can send the Relay
Destination Transmission Report to the specified remote Fax after completing the transmission. Also, the
Relay Station can output the original(s) sent from the Relay Originator every time or when an error occurs.
