PRE-RIDE CHECKS

Failure to perform these checks may
lead to severe personal injury or vehicle
damage.
Do not hesitate to contact your Moto Guzzi
Authorised Dealer if you need clarifications
about the operation of vehicle controls or if
y o u s u s p e c t o r h a v e i d e n t i f i e d a
malfunction.
A quick pre-ride check takes just a few
minutes and greatly improves your safety.

PRE-RIDE CHECKS CHART

Part
Front and rear disc brakes
Check for proper operation, check lever free play, fluid level and check for leaks.
Check the pads for wear.
If necessary, top up the fluid reservoirs.
Throttle
Check for smooth operation; throttle should snap fully open and closed at all positions of the steering.
Adjust and/or lubricate as required.
Engine oil
Check and/or top up as required.
Wheels / tyres
Check tyre surface, inflation pressure. Check for wear or damage.
Remove any objects trapped in the tread.
Brake levers
Make sure that they work smoothly.
Lubricate the joints if necessary (rear brake control).
Clutch
Check clutch operation, free travel of control lever
(free play with a cold engine must be less than 1 mm).
The clutch must not jerk and/or slip when operated.
Steering
Steering should rotate smoothly and evenly. There should be no play or looseness.
Side stand
Check its operation. No friction during up and down movement, springs must ensure full retraction.
Lubricate joints and connections, if necessary.
Centre stand
Check stand switch for proper operation.
Fastening elements
Make sure that the fastening elements are not loose. Adjust or tighten as required.
Fuel tank
Check fuel level and top up, if necessary.
Check the circuit for leaks.
Make sure the filler plug is tightened securely.
