THE FIREPLACE

3.1

INTRODUCTION

The OSBURN STRATFORD fireplace is an energy efficient, heat circulating, close combustion
fireplace. You will receive a lifetime of comfort and enjoyment from your fireplace provided it is
installed, maintained and operated properly.
• Please read these instructions and retain this manual for future reference.
• Before beginning the fireplace installation, consult the local authorities to obtain your
building permit and check your local building codes. Install the fireplace only as described in
these instructions and using only components from the manufacturers listed in table 2.
• The OSBURN STRATFORD is not intended for use with a gas log. Failure to follow these
instructions will void the certification and the warranty of the fireplace and may result in an
unsafe installation.

3.1.1 Parts Required

• Fireplace model OSBURN STRATFORD
• Insulated chimney made by the manufacturers listed in table 2, with the corresponding
specifications :
− Chimney lengths
− Elbows (where necessary)
− Associated components as per these installation instructions.

• Gravity venting system
• Outside air kit
• Fireguard
