Troubleshooting

The following table contains the most
frequent problems and their elimination. If
more problems occur, contact the closest
authorised service centre.
Problem
Engine does not
start
Engine starts badly
or runs irregularly

Possible cause
Engine brake lever is not
pressed.
Fuel valve is closed.
Tank ventilation screw is closed.
No fuel is in the tank.
Choke is open.
Engine was flooded due to too
many start attempts.
Spark plug connector is pulled
off.
Air filter is soiled.
Spark plug is sooted, damaged
or incorrect electrode gap.
Housing of the mower is
jammed.
Poor quality, dirty, or old fuel.
Blade is loose.
Choke is closed.
Air filter is soiled.

Remedy
Press engine brake lever towards the
handlebar.
Open fuel valve.
Open tank ventilation screw.
Refill fuel.
Close the choke.
Unscrew spark plug and start several
times when the fuel valve is closed,
dry the spark plug and screw it back
in.
Observe safety instructions! Put
spark plug connector back on.
Clean air filter (see also Maintenance
and cleaning).
Clean spark plug and check
electrode gap (see also Maintenance
and cleaning). Replace spark plug if
necessary.

Always use a fresh mixture of two
stroke oil and unleaded regular
petrol.
