BASIC OPERATION
I Direct frequency setting
mode operation
The direct frequency setting mode operation is useful when
setting the desired frequency directly to the active frequency
indicator.
q Push and hold [↔] for 2 sec. to enter the direct frequency
setting mode.
• The only active frequency is displayed.

w Select an operating frequency.
• Refer to pgs. 5–6 in details.
e Push [RCL] or [↔] to exit the direct frequency setting
mode.

I Dualwatch operation
The dualwatch operation monitors the active frequency in in-
tervals even when receiving a signal on the standby fre-
quency. When a signal is received on the active frequency,
the radio switches to the active frequency and stays on the
frequency until the signal disappears irrespective of the
standby frequency condition.
q Push [DUAL] to enter dualwatch operation.
• "DUAL" appears on the active frequency indicator.
• The active or standby frequency's "RX"blinks when receiving sig-
nal or opening the squelch.

w Push [DUAL] again to exit dualwatch operation.
• "DUAL" disappears.
• You may also exit dualwatch by pushing [PTT].
ATTENTION!
During dualwatch operation, the standby frequency's AF
may be interrupted at constant intervals, but this is not a
malfunction.
