POSSIBLE CAUSE
Plug on range is not completely inserted in the electrical outlet.
. The circuit breaker in your house has been tripped, or a fuse has been blown.
Oven controls not properly set.
Door left in locked position after cleaning.
Make sure electrical plug is plugged into a I ive power outlet.
burners (on models with dual burners) or burner heads (on models with sealed
burners) or burner caps on spill-proof' models, and clean them with a toothpick.
Make sure you do not enlarge the holes. On spill-proof models, check electrode
area for burned-on food or grease.
(A) Yellow flames—
Call for service
If burner flames look like (A), CM for service. Normal burner flames should look
like (B) or (C), depending on the type of gas you use.
With LP gas, some yellow tipping on outer cones is normal.
If range is connected to LP gas, check all steps in the Installation Instructions.
Make sure thermostat capillary bulb (located i n upper portion of oven) is in
correct position. not touching oven sides and not coated with anything.
Incorrect cookware being used. Check each cooki n: section for cookware tips
or recommendations.
Check common problems listed in Bak in.g, Rousting and Broiling sections.
Oven bottom not securely seated in position.
The oven gas shut off valve may have accidentally been moved during cleaning
or moving. To check the oven gas shut off valve raise the cooktop and look
for the gas shut off lever either on the front large tube or at the extreme right
rear corner. Make sure the lever is turned so that it is parallel to the gas tube.
Surface knob not moved far enough into the LITE position. Move knob
further into the LITE position to allow gas to flow to the burner.
(B) Yellow tips on outer
cones—Normal for LP gas
(C) Soft blue flames—
Normal for natural gas
