5.2.2 Printer Modes

The DocuPrint P8e has two modes of operation, each with its own set of options.

1 Ready Mode (online)

2 Test Mode

5.2.2.1 Ready Mode (Online)
The Ready Mode (Online) is the printer's normal operating mode. In this mode the printer is online and
ready to print. Ready Mode occurs automatically when the printer is switched on. The printer can be
taken Offline by pressing the On/Off-line button. When the button is pressed the Ready LED will go off.
Ready Mode may be restored by pressing the On/Off-line button again.
When the printer is in Ready Mode, the "Ready" LED on the Control Panel is lit. When the "Ready" LED
is blinking, the printer is receiving/processing data, or printing. When the Ready LED is OFF, the printer
is Offline.
5.2.2.2 Test Mode
In Test Mode, the printer is able to print a one page configuration sheet.
Local Test Mode
To initiate a printer self-test and print a configuration sheet, follow these steps:
1) Make sure the printer in on-line.
2) Press and hold the On/Off-line button until all three LEDs are blinking (approximately four
seconds), then release the button. The configuration sheet will be printed.
Remote Test Mode
The Remote Control Panel software can be used to tell the printer to print a one page printer
configuration sheet, although it cannot make the printer do a self-test.
