If necessary, change the scanning settings.

When using the scanner glass:
Mx/STARTN A The unit will scan 1 page. Place the next document on the scanner glass and press MOK/SETN.
Repeat this until all the documents are scanned, then press Mx/STARTN.
When using the automatic document feeder (y):
Mx/STARTN

After you finish scanning, press Mw/STOPN to reset the setting you set in these procedures.

display the scanned image.

How the scanned data is handled
The scanned image will be automatically saved in the folder selected in the [Settings] window of Multi-Function
Station. To change the folder, see page 36.
R When scanning to Quick Image Navigator (for JT models), the scanned image will be displayed in the [Quick
Image Navigator] window after scanning.
When scanning to Multi-Function Viewer (for models other than JT models), the scanned image will be
displayed in the [Multi-Function Viewer] window after scanning. However, when you select PDF as a file format,
the software that is associated to open PDF files will start.
R When scanning to email, the email software will automatically start and the scanned image will be attached to
a new email message.
R When scanning to OCR, the scanned image will be displayed in the OCR window after scanning.
R When scanning to email address, the scanned image will be sent as an email attachment directly from this unit.
R When scanning to FTP server, the scanned image will be automatically saved in the selected folder on the FTP
server.
To display the scanned image, download the data to your computer beforehand.
R When scanning to SMB folder, the scanned image will be automatically saved in the selected folder on the
network.
When scanning to SMB folder does not perform properly, consult your network administrator. This unit's SMB
function does not support NTLMv2 and SMB signatures.
Activating scan to email address (LAN supported models only) (y)
1. Register the email destinations. See page 49 for details.
R You can also enter the destination email address directly in step 4 on page 57.
