Brake Shoe Wear

(Refer to the Safety Precautions on page 41.
The rear brake is equipped with a brake wear indicator.
When the brake is applied, an arrow (1) attached to
the brake arm (2) moves toward a reference mark (3)
on the brake panel (4). If the arrow aligns with the
reference mark on full application of the brake, the
brake shoes must be replaced. See your Honda dealer
for this service.

Brake Lining and Drum Cleaning

The rear brake linings and drum must be cleaned at
each 3,000 km (1,800 mi) of use. For safety reasons,
this service must be performed by a Honda dealer.

If the linings and drum are not cleaned within the
proper period, the rear brake efficiency will be
decreased.
Whenever there is a need to perform adjustments or
repairs in the brake system, go to your Honda
dealer, which is equipped with original parts,
essential for the motorcycle safety.
