ENGINE OPERATION
1. Put the shift lever in the Neutral posi-
tion and run the engine for 2-3 minutes
at idling speed if it has been running at
full speed.
2. Turn the main switch key to the OFF
position.

 After stopping the engine, close the air
vent screw on the tank cap.
 Disconnect the fuel connector of the
engine or the fuel tank.
 Disconnect the battery cord of the EF or
EP type engine, if the engine will not be
used for more than 3 days.

7. Trim angle

The trim angle of the outboard motor can
be adjusted to suit the transom angle of
the hull, and load conditions. Choose an
appropriate trim angle that will allow the
anti-ventilation plate to run parallel to the
water surface during operation.

Proper trim angle
The position of the thrust rod is correct if
the hull is horizontal during operation.
1. Perpendicular to the water surface

Improper trim angle (bow rises too
high)
Set the thrust rod lower if the bow of the
boat rises above horizontal.

Improper trim angle (bow dips into the
water)
Set the thrust rod higher if the bow of the
boat is below horizontal.
