MANUALLY TESTING THE FUNCTIONING OF THE DOOR
Step Ladder
Before performing the install routine, it is NECESSARY to check the manual operation of the door, to ensure that it operates
easily.
11mm (7/16") Hex
Head Driver
NOTE: If necessary, the disconnect handle can be moved from the vertical track and positioned on the wall, in which case you
must install a cable guide (hook or pivot) vertically above the disconnect handle for it to function properly.
Place emergency disconnect handle (1o) in the manual operated position, as shown in FIG. 4.4. The opener is now
disconnected from the torque tube.
TEST 1:
Lift the door slowly checking that the torque tube turns until the door is fully open. Check that the counterbalance cables are
wound correctly on their respective drums.
TEST 2:
Check for proper counterbalance of the door: positioning it at mid-height, the door should remain in position. It should neither go
up, nor fall under its own weight. Adjust spring(s), if door lifts by itself and is hard to pull down, or if door is difficult to lift and
comes down by itself. Refer to page 17, Spring Adjustment (If Required). Also check that the distance between the door and
the horizontal tracks is identical on the left and right side. Raise the door back to the fully open position.
TEST 3:
By hand, turn the torque counterbalance tube in order to lower the door without touching the door itself (this operation is best
performed from the side of the door). Continue until the door is completely closed:
