• The two VHDCI SCSI connectors allow 'daisy chaining' to other devices.
Important
The following rules must be used if 2 strings of drives are to be correctly daisy chained together.
– Maximum Total Cable length should not exceed 10 metres at Ultra-2 LVDS speeds (including
any daisy chaining cable).
– Ensure that daisy chained drives have different ID ranges.

System Configuration
Important
Before you begin installation you should become familiar with the configuration requirements of
your RS-0800-LVD system. Please refer to Section
configurations.
When planning your system configuration, please remember that:
• All RS-0800-LVD enclosure drive bays must be filled with either a Drive Carrier module or dummy
carrier module, no bays should be left completely empty.

instructions for setting the Drive Select ID bits.
