Unable to specify desired settings or unable to print as specified

Perform these troubleshooting procedures if you cannot specify the desired settings in the printer driver, or
if the print results do not represent the settings that have been specified.
Note
Some of the printer driver functions cannot be combined with other functions.
12.2.1

Printer driver settings have no effect

Symptom
A printer driver setting cannot be se-
lected.
A "Conflicts" message with "Unable
to Select" or "Function Canceled" ap-
pears.
Printing is not performed as specified.
The watermark cannot be printed.
The duplex print setting cannot be
specified.
The secure print setting cannot be
specified.
Printing is not performed entirely
when "Collate" is specified.
The overlay is not printed properly.
Images are not printed properly.
Paper is not fed from the specified pa-
per source.
The field for account track setting is
grayed out, disabling setting.

Error message

Message
Cannot connect to the network.
C200
Cause
Some functions cannot be com-
bined.
An incorrect combination of func-
tions has been specified.
Incorrect settings may be specified.
Function settings can be combined
in the printer driver, but not on this
machine.
The paper size, orientation, and oth-
er settings specified in the applica-
tion may have priority over those
specified in the printer driver.
The watermark may not be correctly
set.
The watermark density may be set
to a level that is too low.
Watermarks cannot be printed in
graphics applications in some cas-
es.
The optional expanded memory unit
may not be installed.
The optional expanded memory unit
may not be installed.
Available memory space of the ma-
chine may be insufficient.
Available computer memory space
may be insufficient.
Available computer memory space
may be insufficient.
Paper will not be fed from the spec-
ified paper source if that paper
source is loaded with paper of a dif-
ferent size or orientation.
In the printer driver, the Account
Track function may be disabled.
Cause and remedy
A connection to the network could not be established. Check if the network
cable is correctly connected. In addition, check that the "Network Settings"
parameters have been correctly specified.
Remedy
Do not try to select settings that are
not available.
Check the settings and specify the
functions correctly.
Check each setting in the printer
driver.
Specify the correct settings in the
application.
Check the watermark settings.
Check the density settings.
No watermark can be printed if that
is the case.
The duplex print function is available
only when the optional duplex unit
and expanded memory unit is in-
stalled.
The secure print function is available
only when the optional expanded
memory unit is installed.
Use the sort function in the print
menu of the application.
Simplify the overlay to reduce the
data size.
Simplify the images to reduce the
data size.
Load the paper source with paper of
the appropriate size and orientation.
In "Configure", specify a setting for
account track.
