15. Connecting to external devices

USB connections

Using USB storage
Connect the unit and a computer with a microUSB cable (commercially available),
and use it as a removable disk.
This allows data to be backed up to the computer, or transfer data with the unit as
USB storage.

Turn the [Media device (MTP)] checkbox on.
≥ Configure [Camera (PTP)] when connected to a computer that does not support MTP.

Connected the unit to a computer with a microUSB cable (commercially
available).

Access the unit from the computer when it is recognised as a removable disk.
Connecting to a Mac
If you are using Mac OS X, software must be installed on the computer in advance to establish a media device
(MTP) connection.

Disconnecting
Check that no data is being transferred, and remove the microUSB cable (commercially available).
≥ Do not remove the microUSB cable (commercially available) while data is being transferred. Doing so may
cause the data to become corrupted.
