The ceramic rope seal should be held in place with Jetmaster Seal Adhesive.

Servicing Door Seal between Door Frame and Glass Panel

The s eal u nder t he g lass c an b e r emoved b y fi rst r emoving t he g lass p anel.
To r emove t he g lass p anel fi rst r emove t he 4 n uts a nd b olts ( one a t e ach c orner) t hat b olt t he g lass t o t he f rame.
Then gently lift off the glass panel. Once the glass panel is removed then the seal can be removed. If replacing
the glass then the seal should be replaced at the same time.
First remove the old seal and clean the surface to remove any of the old adhesive. Fit the new seal that has a
self-adhesive backing. Peel back the backing tape and attach to the door frame. Ensure that the seals touch
each o ther a t t he c orners s o a s t o g ive a c ontinuous s eal a round t he e dge w hen t he g lass p anel i s r efitted.
Refit t he g lass b y a ligning t he h oles i n t he g lass w ith t hat i n t he f rame ( also t he h ole t hat a llows t he d oor c atch
to protrude through).
Insert a n ew p rotective fl anged b ush i n e ach o f t he 4 h oles i n t he g lass. I t i s i mportant t hat t hese a re fi tted t o
eliminate direct contact of the screw with the glass. Insert loosely the bolts/screws.
Refit t he n uts h and t ight. F inally t ighten e ach n ut a l ittle a t a t ime s o a s t o p ull t he g lass d own e venly t o a void i t
cracking.
Ensure that the hole in the glass around the door catch does not touch the latch at any point. There should be
a small gap all around the latch to the glass. This will allow the metal to expand when heated to avoid cracking
the glass.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE BOLTS AND NUTS OR THE GLASS WILL CRACK.

Glass Panel

To remove and replace the glass panel from the door follow the procedure in Servicing Door Seal between Door
Frame and Glass Panel.
Refitting the door using the reverse process in door removal section. Check the door tension as detailed
below.

Door Tension Adjustment

After carrying out any servicing on the door always adjust the door latch tension. The latch tension is adjusted
by adding or removing the shim washers behind the door latch.
This w ill a djust t he t ension o f t he d oor s eal a gainst t he fi rebox b ody.

Cleaning and Maintenance

The v isible f ront p arts o f t he fi re c an b e r epainted w ith h eat r esistant b lack p aint. T hese p arts c an b e r epainted
every 1 or 2 years as required but generally dusting with a soft brush should keep the fire looking good. T he
interior o f t he fi rebox a nd t he g rate s hould n ot b e p ainted.
To m aintain t he fi nish o n D ecorative S urrounds w ipe w ith a s oft d amp c loth o nly. D o not use abrasive cleaners,
polish o r s olvents a s t hese c an d amage t he s urface fi nish.

Glass Door

If over a period of time the glass door starts to soot then this maybe cleaned with a proprietary cleaner available
from your distributor.
ALL CLEANING MUST BE CARRIED OUT WITH THE APPLIANCE COLD
