Servicing Instructions

IMPORTANT –

ALLOW THE FIRE TO COOL BEFORE COMMENCING SERVICING OR CLEANING

Servicing

To    ensure    safe,    efﬁcient    operation    of    the    appliance,    it    is    necessary    to    carry    out    routine    servicing    at    regular   

intervals.

The frequency of servicing will depend on the particular installation conditions and the frequency of use.

Chimney Sweeping

We recommend that chimneys should be swept at least twice a year during the burning season. More frequent

sweeping    m ay    b e    n ecessary    w here    ﬁ res    a re    b urned    t hroughout    t he    y ear    o r    w here    l ow    g rade    w oods    o r    b ituminous   

coal    a re    u sed    a s    f uels.    T he    c himney    c an    b e    s wept    t hrough    t he    ﬁ re.    T he    ﬁ re    i s    p rovided    w ith    r emovable    t ertiary   

air    t ubes    a nd    V    b oard    b afﬂes    t o    f acilitate    c himney    s weeping    a nd    f or    t he    r emoval    o f    s oot    f rom    t he    u nit.

Besides    c himney    s weeping    a ny    i nternal    ﬂ ueways    s hould    a lso    b e    c leaned.   

Ensure    t hat    a ny    s oot    t hat    h as    f allen    o n    t o    t he    t op    o f    t he    V    b oard    b afﬂes    i s    r emoved.   

Ensure that any soot that has accumulated around the tertiary air tube holes is removed.

Remove   and   clean   the   tertiary   air   tubes   and   the   V   board   bafﬂes.   Replace   and   ensure   correct   operation   and   

adjustment.

Seal Checks

A    c heck    o n    t he    s eal    b etween    t he    ﬁ re    a nd    t he    ﬂ ue    s hould    b e    c arried    o ut.

A check on the seal of the door should be carried out.

Smoke Draw Test

Finally carry out a smoke draw test as described in Commissioning Section or to the HETAS recommended

requirements.

Before any maintenance work or sweeping is carried out always remove the door and store safely.

Door    R emoval    a nd    R eﬁtting

Unlock the door with the handle provided.

Remove the door as detailed in section on appliance preparation page 13.

Log Retainer Removal

diagram on page 30.
