4.3.4 OPERATION
ALL MODELS
1) Ensure all red emergency stops are out.
2) Turn key switch at ground control station to Platform (fully clockwise).
3) Turn key switch on Platform controls to ON (fully clockwise).
DIESEL ENGINE
4) COLD ENGINE: - press and hold the Diesel Glow symbol for 3-5 seconds, then press and hold
the Start symbol and the engine will fire.
5) WARM ENGINE: - press and hold the Start symbol (on the platform control panel) and the
engine will fire.
ALL MODELS
6) Set the variable speed control as required. Tortoise gives minimum function control speed and
Hare allows maximum function control speed.
7) Depress the footswitch or push and hold green power button on the platform control panel.
8) Select a function and operate the appropriate proportional paddles (levers) in full accordance
with manufacturers operating and safety manual.
9) To return control to the base, turn platform control key switch to OFF position then turn the base
control key-switch to the Base position (single turn anti-clockwise).
10) When not in use return booms to the stowed position. Turn key switch on the ground control
station to the fully anti-clockwise OFF position, remove key and chock wheels.

PROPANE OR DIESEL. THESE FUELS ARE FLAMMABLE.
BEFORE OPERATING THE NIFTYLIFT ENSURE THAT EACH OPERATOR HAS READ
AND FULLY UNDERSTOOD THE OPERATING MANUAL. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY
RESULT IN DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY.
ALWAYS ENSURE THE AERIAL PLATFORM IS ON A FIRM LEVEL SURFACE AND
THE AREA IS FREE OF ANY OVERHEAD OBSTRUCTIONS.
ENGAGING THE RED EMERGENCY STOP BUTTON WILL SHUT DOWN THE
ENGINE, AND THE ELECTRIC CIRCUIT PREVENTING OPERATION OF ANY
FUNCTION.
