    2.4.1 Serial Port Connectors The AFL2D-12A-N270-ECIL has two serial ports. One of these ports (COM1) is RS-232 only port. The other serial port (COM3) can be configured as a RS-232, RS-422 or an RS-485 serial port. Pin 9 on both ports can be set as the normal ring (RI) signal or can be designated as a 5 V or 12 V power supply.

    AFL2D-12A-N270-ECIL and severe injury to the user. Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can cause serious damage to electronic components, including the AFL2D-12A-N270-ECIL. Dry climates are especially susceptible to ESD. It is therefore critical that whenever the AFL2D-12A-N270-ECIL is accessed internally, or any other electrical component is handled, the following anti-static precautions are strictly adhered to.

    Over-tightening back cover screws will crack the plastic frame. Maximum torque for cover screws is 5 kg-cm (0.36 lb-ft/0.49 Nm). To access the AFL2D-12A-N270-ECIL internally the back cover must be removed. To remove the back cover, please follow the steps below.

    Manufacturing shop flow 4.6.2 ATX Power Mode With the ATX mode selected, the AFL2D-12A-N270-ECIL panel PC goes in a standby mode when it is turned off. The panel PC can be easily turned on via network or a power switch in standby mode. Remote power control is perfect for advertising applications since the broadcasting time for each panel PC can be set individually and controlled remotely.

    The following jumpers can be found on the motherboard installed in the AFL2D-12A-N270-ECIL. Before the AFL2D-12A-N270-ECIL is installed, the jumpers must be set in accordance with the desired configuration. The jumpers on the AFL2D-12A-N270-ECIL motherboard are listed in Table 4-1.

Back cover removal instructions for the AFL2D-12A-N270-ECIL are described below.
