Instrumentation and Controls
If you have recently replaced the
battery in your vehicle, or if the
battery has run down, the vehicle's
on-board diagnostic system may
determine that the vehicle is not
ready for inspection. It may take
several days of routine driving in
order for the diagnostic system
to have enough data for the
inspection.
If the vehicle has been driven for
several days (with a fully charged
battery) prior to the inspection,
but the vehicle still does not pass
for lack of on-board diagnostic
system readiness, see your dealer
or a qualified service center to
prepare the vehicle for inspection.

Stabilitrak
Indicator Light
This light should come on briefly
as you start the engine, as a check
to show you it is working properly.
If it doesn't come on, then have it
fixed so it will be ready to warn
you if there is a problem.
When the Stabilitrak system
activates, the Stabilitrak Indicator
Light will flash.
After the initial bulb check, this
light comes on to indicate that the
system is off.
If the light stays on, or if it comes
on while you're driving when you
have not turned off Stabilitrak,
there may be a problem with this
system.
See your dealer for service.
When this warning light is on, the
traction control system will not
limit wheel spin.
Adjust your driving accordingly.
See "Stabilitrak System" later in this
section for more information.
