Using Cruise Control on Hills
How well the cruise control system
will work on hills depends on
several factors:
• vehicle speed
• vehicle load
• steepness of the hill
When going up steep hills, you
may need to use the accelerator
pedal to maintain your speed.
When going downhill, you may
need to use the brake pedal to
control the vehicle's speed.
Applying the brakes disengages
cruise control.
Cruise grade braking is activated
whenever cruise control is used
while tow/haul mode is active.

■ MIRRORS

Outside Mirrors

Adjust the outside mirrors so
that you just see the side of your
vehicle when you are sitting in a
comfortable driving position.
Both outside mirrors are convex.
A convex mirror's surface is curved
so you can see more from the
driver's seat.
CAUTION
A convex mirror makes objects
appear to be farther away than
they really are. Check your
inside mirror or glance over
your shoulder before changing
lanes.
