% Open the upper cover, press the tray bottom plate lower button, and then load the paper into the tray.
– Load the paper in the v orientation for LU-405, or in the w orientation for LU-406.
– Press the tray bottom plate lower button, and perform the paper loading operation until the tray
bottom plate cannot be lowered any further.
– Do not load so many pages that the top of the stack is higher than the , mark.
– Up to 4,000 sheets of plain paper can be loaded into LU-405/LU-406.

Loading paper into the bypass tray
Paper can be fed manually through the bypass tray when you wish to print onto paper of a size that is not
loaded into a paper tray, or when you wish to print onto OHP transparencies or label sheets.
Follow the procedure described below to load paper into the bypass tray.
