Open the upper cover, press the tray bottom plate lower button, and then load the paper into the tray.

Load the paper in the v orientation for LU-405, or in the w orientation for LU-406.

Press the tray bottom plate lower button, and perform the paper loading operation until the tray
bottom plate cannot be lowered any further.

Do not load so many pages that the top of the stack is higher than the , mark.

Up to 4,000 sheets of plain paper can be loaded into LU-405/LU-406.

Loading paper into the bypass tray
Paper can be fed manually through the bypass tray when you wish to print onto paper of a size that is not
loaded into a paper tray, or when you wish to print onto OHP transparencies or label sheets.
Follow the procedure described below to load paper into the bypass tray.
