Anti-static Measures

Most electric components in the Disk Expansion Unit are composed of electric parts easily
affected by static electricity. When installing or removing options, follow the precautions below
to avoid any damages resulting from static electricity.
Wear an anti-static wrist strap (or any other anti-static device).
Wear a wrist strap on your wrist. If no wrist strap is available, touch and maintain
continuous contact with an unpainted metal part of the chassis when handling
components to discharge static electricity from your body. .
Select a suitable workspace.
Work in a room with an anti-static or concrete floor.
When working on a carpet where static electricity is likely to be generated, make sure
to take anti-static measures beforehand.
Use a worktable.
Place the Disk Expansion Unit on an anti-static mat.
Select your clothing
Do not wear wool or synthetic clothes.
Wear anti-static shoes.
Take off any jewels (ring, bracelet, or wristwatch) before installing the Disk
Expansion Unit.
Handle the components properly
Keep a component into an anti-static bag until you actually install it to the Disk
Expansion Unit.
Hold a component by its edges to avoid touching any terminals or parts.
Place components into an anti-static bag to store or carry them.
