Installation, Relocation, Storage, and Connection

Do not attempt to lift the Disk Expansion Unit only by yourself.
The disk extension Unit weighs max. 27.4 kg (depending on its hardware
configuration). Always require help from two persons to install, disassembly,
or carry the Disk Expansion Unit.
Do not install the Disk Expansion Unit in any place other than specified.
Do not install the Disk Expansion Unit in the following places or any place other
than specified in this User's Guide. Failure to follow this instruction may cause
a fire.
Do not install the rack leaving its cover removed.
Always replace the cover of the Disk Expansion Unit. Failure to follow this
instruction may reduce the cooling effect in the unit, resulting in malfunctions.
Dust may also enter the unit, resulting in a fire or an electric shock.
Do not pinch your finger.
Be careful not to pinch yourself when installing a built-in option in the Disk
Expansion Unit.
Do not connect any interface cable when the power cord of the Disk Expansion
Unit is plugged to a power source.
Make sure to power off the Disk Expansion Unit and unplug the power cord
from a power outlet before connecting/disconnecting the interface cable. If the
Disk Expansion Unit is off-powered but its power cord is plugged to a power
source, touching the cable may cause an electric shock or a fire may result
from a short circuit. Also, connect/disconnect the interface cable after turning
off the power of the destination.
Do not use any unauthorized interface cable.
Use only interface cables provided by NEC and locate a proper device and
connector before connecting a cable. Using an authorized cable or connecting
a cable to an improper destination may cause a short circuit, resulting in a fire.
Observe the following notes when using and connecting an interface cable.
cable, confirm that the cable connectors are not damaged and that no
connector pins are bent or dirty.
Once the interface cable is connected, lock it securely using a screw driver.
To disconnect the interface cable, unlock it and hold the connector to pull out
it straight.

Do not use a damaged cable connector. Before connecting an interface

Do not place any object on the cable.
