Cue Tone Sig(nal) Field
The Cue Tone Signal field lets the user turn the cue tone test on and off. Press the4button
until the cursor is at the Cue Tone Signal label, and press the Enter button to move into the
field. Press the56buttons to display the options. If On is selected, the unit will generate a
DTMF code 0-9 on the cue tone output. This test will keep repeating until the Off option is
selected or the Enter button is pressed to exit the field.
Relay Field
The Relay field lets the user turn the relay on and off. Press the4button until the cursor is
at the Relay label, and press the Enter button to move into the field. Press the56buttons
to display the options. If On is selected, the unit will activate the relay. The relay will
remain activated until the Off option is selected or the Enter button is pressed to exit the
field.

is provided.

System Update Caution Screens

The unit may be updated with code that it receives in one of two types of code download.
During a background code download the unit collects the upgrade code in the background
while concurrently decoding video and audio services. This is further described in the
Download Menu section.
During a foreground code download the unit mutes video and audio and ignores user
commands. This interruption typically lasts a several minutes and so a caution screen is
displayed which provides a 30-second warning, with countdown, before any system update
takes place.
Abort the update by pressing any front panel button, returning the unit to its previous state.
In addition to this screen, the LCD back light will blink off and on for the duration of the
30-second countdown period. No user action is required. Only under unusual
circumstances (troubleshooting, reinstallation, etc.) would a programmer, or the Hotline,
direct the user to abort the update.
