C. Tools and Supplies Needed
Before beginning the installation be sure the following
tools and building supplies are available:
Reciprocating saw
Pliers
Hammer
Phillips screwdriver
Flat blade screwdriver
Plumb line
Level
1/2-3/4 in. length, #6 or #8 self-drilling screws
Misc. screws and nails

parts could impair safe operation. DO NOT install dam-
aged, incomplete or substitute components. Keep fi re-
place dry.
• Remove fi replace and components from packaging and
inspect for damage.
• Vent system components and doors are shipped in
separate packages.
• Report to your dealer any parts damaged in shipment.
• Read all the instructions before starting the
installation. Follow these instructions carefully
during the installation to ensure maximum safety
and benefi t.

The Heatilator fi replace system requirements consist of
the following:
• Fireplace
- Firebrick (included with fi replace)
- Door (included with fi replace)
- Non-combustible facing material (included with
fi replace)
- Hearth Extension
• Outside Air System (hood and collars included with
fi replace)
• Fascia
• Chimney System
- Chimney air kit (included with fi replace, required with
SL300 series chimney)
- Attic Insulation Shield (included with fi replace)
- Chimney termination cap
• Non-combustible fi nish material
Optional components include:
• Firescreen
• Lintel Bar
• Heat Zone Kit
