Activating a CableCARD
™
If your cable TV provider has supplied you with a CableCARDTM, follow
the steps below to activate the card.
Note: To activate a CableCARDTM, most Cable TV providers require
an on-site visit by a licensed technician. Follow the steps below only
ifyour cable TV provider has provided you with a CableCARDTM and
instructed you to activate it yourself. The activation procedure for
your cable TV provider may differ from the steps below; before
completing the steps below, ask your provider to provide
activation instructions.

Insert the CableCARDTM into the ATI TV Wonder™ Digital Cable
Tuner.

If you have two Digital Cable Tuners that you want to use with
Windows® Media Center, you can use a splitter to divide the TV
signal from the wall jack to the tuners. Each tuner must have a TV
signal connected to the TV IN jack on the tuner.

On the start screen, scroll to Tasks, click Settings, click TV, and
then click Set Up TV Signal.

Follow the steps to connect a TV signal, depending on the type of
tuner or tuners that the cable is connected to, as well as the type of
programming to which you subscribe.

Contact your service provider to activate your CableCARDTM to
receive cable content.
OR
On the start screen, scroll to Tasks, click Settings, click TV, and
then click Set Up TV Signal.
You are now ready to activate digital cable. If Media Center does not
identify a CableCARDTM, it will display a warning message. Insert
the CableCARDTM into the digital tuner, confirm that the top LED
light is green, and then click Scan again for a CableCARD.
a) At the Windows Media Center Privacy Statement, click Yes to
continue.
b) In rare cases, you will be prompted to enter the Digital Cable
product key. This product key should be affixed to the computer
or included as part of your Windows Vista™ User Guide. Please
consult your PC manufacturer if you have misplaced the Digital
Cable product key.
