Release and remove the negative (-)
terminal screw (3).

Move aside the negative cable (4).

Release and remove the positive (+)
terminal screw (5).
Move aside the positive cable (6).

Grasp the battery (7) firmly and lift it out
of its compartment.
WARNING
Once removed, the battery must be
stored in a safe place and kept away
from children.

Place the battery on a flat surface, in a
cool and dry place.

CHECKING BATTERY FLUID
LEVEL
Carefully read page 89 (BATTERY).
This vehicle is fitted with a maintenance-
free battery. It is not necessary to check
battery fluid level.
CHARGING THE BATTERY

Remove the battery, see page 90
(REMOVING THE BATTERY).

Be sure to have a suitable battery charger
on hand.
u
Set the battery charger to the required
type of charge (see table).
u
Connect the battery to the charger.
WARNING
Charge or use the battery in a well-
ventilated place. Do not inhale the gas
p r o d u c e d b y t h e b a t t e r y u n d e r
charging.

Switch the battery charger on.
