SAFETY RULES FOR OPERATING YOUR FIREPLACE
We recommend that our wood burning hearth products be installed and serviced by
professionals who are certified in the United States by NFI (National Fireplace Institute
in Canada by WETT (Wood Energy Technical Training) or in Quebec by APC (Association
des Professionnels du Chauffage).
Use only an Osburn glass door, specifically designed for the model Osburn Stratford.
When cleaning the fireplace, the ashes should be placed in a metal container with a tight
fitting lid. The closed container of ashes should be placed on a non-combustible floor or on
the ground outside the house, pending final disposal. If the ashes are disposed of by burial in
soil or otherwise locally dispersed, they should be retained in the closed container until all
cinders have thoroughly cooled.
