Preparatory work

Conduct a brief test
Disconnect negative pole of battery
The following components must be removed first of all
for E60, E61 and E63, E64 cars
Side backrest section on the rear seat or seat back
Wheel arch trim in luggage compartment on left
Door sill strip from the rear left (interior)
Door sill strip from the front left (interior)
A pillar trim at bottom left
Trim at the bottom left of the door pillar
Pedal trim
Control display
M-ASK/CCC
Release the oddments box
The following components must be removed first of all
for E87, E90, E91 and E92 cars
Backrest side section on the rear seat, left
Wheel arch trim in luggage compartment on left
Door sill strip from the rear left (interior)
Door sill strip from the front left (interior)
A pillar trim at bottom left
Trim at the bottom left of the door pillar
Pedal trim
M-ASK/CCC
Unfasten the controller (E87 cars only)
Release cover for oddments box (E90 and E91 cars)
Trim at the bottom right of the dashboard
Glove box with casing
Undo the fuse holder on the right
