Prior to asse m b l i n g the cra n kcase ha lves a pply a sea lant to the i r mati ng s u rface. Wi pe off excess sea l a nt thoro u g h ly.

M a rk a n d store the d i sasse m bled pa rts to ensure that they a re re insta l led i n their o r i g i n a l l ocati ons.
•
Remove the piston, cyl i nder s leeve a n d connecting rod as an asse m b ly.
•
Be ca refu l not to damage the cra n kshaft m a i n journal bea ring wh i l e rem ovi ng or i n sta l l i n g the cra n kshaft.
•
A l l bea ring i nserts a re select fitted and a re identified by co lor code. Select replacem e nt bea rings fro m the selection
•
table (page
1 1 - 1 6) .
After i n sta l l i ng new bea rings, recheck them with plastigauge to verify cleara nce.
•
