Heat pump water heater
When transporting or handling the appliance after the initial start-up, follow the aforementioned indications concerning
the maximum inclination and ensure that all water has been drained from the tank. If the original packaging is no longer
available, provide a similar protection for the appliance and its components.

1.7 Identification of the appliance

The main information for identifying the appliance is contained on the adhesive data label located on the lateral lower
part of the water heater. Besides indicating the manufacturer, model and serial number, the label also contains information
required by the law in addition to a summary of the main technical data.
max tank pressure
type of refrigerant and recharge
pump power consumption
heat rating in heat pump mode
The complete features and technical data of the various models (NUOS 80, NUOS 100 and NUOS 120) appear in the
table in paragraph 2.8.

1.8 Unit of measurement

The relative physical quantities contained in this manual are generally measured using the International System of
Units (SI) and derivative units, besides the commonly accepted non-SI units.
For example, the kilowatt-hour (kWh) has been used to represent physical quantities of diverse nature such as electrical
energy and thermal energy, although it is more commonly used for electrical energy rather than for thermal energy.
This has been done to facilitate comprehension, particularly for end users.
For the same reasons, the same unit of measurement has been used for electrical power and heat rating, namely the
watt (W) or its multiple, the kilowatt (kW).
Units of other systems have been used in some specific cases according to common practice, such as the Anglo-Saxon
inch ("), which is commonly used to indicate the diameter of hydraulic piping and/or relative threading.

2. TECHNICAL FEATURES

2.1 Operating principle

The NUOS heat pump water heater is only apparently similar to a traditional electric water heater. Although it is also
only connected to the domestic water supply and power supply networks, NUOS does not use electrical energy to heat
water directly during its normal operating cycle, but uses this energy more rationally to achieve the same result in a
more efficient manner, i.e. by consuming 2/3 less electrical energy.
