NOTE: To diagnose a problem, first find the BIOS error
messages, codes, or beeps in left column. If directed to a
check procedure, replace the FRU indicated in the check
procedure. If no check procedure is indicated, the first
Action/FRU listed in right column is the most likely cause.
PRESS F1 TO When BIOS detects a Non-maskable
DISABLE NMI, F2 TO Interrupt condition during boot, this will
REBOOT allow you to disable the NMI and
continue to boot, or you can reboot the
system with the NMI enabled.
RAM PARITY Indicates a parity error in Random

OFFENDING This message is used in conjunction

when the segment that has caused the
problem cannot be isolated.
ERROR Hard drive cannot be initialized. Be
ENCOUNTERED sure the adapter is installed correctly
INITIALIZING HARD and all cables are correctly and firmly
DRIVE attached. Also be sure the correct
hard drive type is selected in Setup.
ERROR INITIALIZING Cannot initialize controller. Make sure
HARD DISK the cord is correctly and firmly

installed in the bus. Be sure the
correct hard drive type is selected in
Setup. Also check to see if any
jumper needs to be set correctly on
the hard drive.
FLOPPY DISK Cannot find or initialize the floppy drive

PRESENT are no floppy drives installed, be sure
the Diskette Drive selection in Setup is
set to NONE.
