Function Hotkeys

The F F n key located at the lower left corner of the keyboard is used with another key to perform the alternative function of a key. The letter "Fn" and the alternative functions
are identified by the color of blue on the keytop. To perform a desired function, first press and hold Fn, then press the other key. For example, to decrease speaker volume,
press and hold the Fn key, and then press the F3 key.
Fn + F1 Switches the wireless network radio on
and off. Upon booting the Joybook,
default setting is off.
Fn + F3 Decreases speaker volume.
Fn + F4 Increases speaker volume.
Fn + F5 Switches display between the screen and
an external monitor, or allows simulta-
neous display.
If the display mode is set to 256 col-
ors or lower, or in DOS mode, there
will be only two modes for selecting:
CRT only and LCD & CRT.
Fn + F6 Decreases screen brightness.
F F n + F7 Increases screen brightness.
F F n + F10 Switches Battery Low beep on and off.
Fn + F11 Switches the screen on and off.
F F n + F12 Serves as the standby or hibernate button that
you can define with Windows' Power Manage-
ment. (refer to "Setting up Fn+F12 Key Func-
tion" on page 11 for details)
F F n + NumLk Activates or deactivates the numeric keypad
integrated in the keyboard (indicated by the
light gray shade in the illustration above).
F F n + ScrLk
Activates or deactivates the scroll lock function.
When activated, the screen moves one line up
or down when you press the up or down arrow
key ( , ).
Scroll Lock does not work in all programs.
