PhoneBook

Your Telstra Orb can store up to 50 Phonebook
entries. Each entry can hold up to 24 digits for the
phone number and 12 characters for the name.

Access the Names list

1. Press
in standby mode or press NAMES
TIP: Instead of scrolling
or
to browse the
Phonebook entries, you can press the numeric key
corresponding to the first letter of the entry you wish
to locate. For example, pressing
key will show the
entries starting with A. Pressing
again will show
the entries starting with B, etc...

Add entry in the Phonebook

1. Press NAMES
2. Scroll
to Add Entry and press SELECT
3. Enter the name max. 12 characters. Press OK.
4. Enter the number (including area code) max. 24
digits. Press SAVE.
5. Scroll
or
to select the ringer melody. Press
SELECT. The display shows Name Saved.
6. Press BACK to return to menu or press
to
return to stand-by.
NOTE When entering a name, the first character is
automatically given as an upper case letter with the
rest of the name in lower case lettering. You can
change the case from lower case to upper case or
numbers using the
key
TIP When entering a number be sure to include the full
number, including area code. This will allow the
Telstra Orb to send text messages to your Phonebook
entries (see page 54) as well as ensure Number and
Name matching for Calling Number Display (see page
49 for more details)

View the Phonebook

1. Press
in standby mode or press NAMES then
SELECT to search the list.
2. The entries are listed in alphabetical order.
3. Scroll
or
browse the Phonebook.
4. To view details of a Phonebook entry, press
OPTIONS then SELECT to show the details.

Answering Machine
2 Scroll
to Record Memo and press SELECT.
3 After the tone, speak your message into the
handset microphone. Your message can be up to
3 minutes long.
4 Press SAVE to finish recording. Your message is
played back. During play back, press DELETE if
you want to delete and re-record the memo.
5 Press
to return to stand-by mode.
Answer delay
Set the number of rings before your Telstra Orb
answer machine picks up the call. You can choose
from 2 – 9 rings or Toll Saver.
With answer delay set to Toll Saver, your
answering machine will answer after 2 rings if
you have new messages or 6 rings if you do not
have new messages so you can hang up before the
machine answers and save the cost of the call.
Set the answer delay
1 Press MENU, scroll to Answer Machine and
press SELECT.
2 Scroll
to Answer Settings and press
SELECT.
3 Scroll
to Answer Delay and press SELECT.
4 Scroll
or
to the answer delay you want and
press SELECT to confirm.
5 Press
to return to stand-by mode.
Remote Access
Remote access allows you to listen to your
messages by calling your Telstra Orb from another
phone. You can also switch the answering machine
on and off remotely. When you call your Telstra
Orb you will need to enter a 4-digit security PIN to
access your messages. The default remote access
PIN is 0000; this should be changed for increased
security.
Change remote access PIN
1 Press MENU, scroll to Answer Machine and
press SELECT.
