Modem
Your Zoom cable modem has several LED light indicators on its
front panel, so you can monitor its operation and perform trouble-
shooting if necessary.
The following table defines these lights and explains how to inter-
pret them. This table is for reference only and is not required for
cable modem installation.

The back panel of your cable modem looks like this.

MODE
Power is on.
Searching for "data" channel from
the cable provider.
Ranging (synchronizing the signal
for optimum performance) and
Registering (signing on to the cable
company's network).
The modem is synchronized to the
cable system.
Data activity is present on the cable.
The cable modem is communicating
with the cable system. It may be
downloading data or uploading data
to the cable service provider and the
Internet.
The Ethernet (10/100BaseT) com-
puter interface is connected.
