MADI Input and Output Routing
Also, when a DMBK-R109 is installed, a new tab is added to the Audio Output Routing window, allowing any
output bus to be routed to any of the 48 (or 24) MADI outputs. (See Figure 2)
Figure 2
For large recording projects at 44.1 or 48 kHz, all 48 Direct outputs can be routed to all 48 MADI outputs.
Note that MADI inputs and outputs can also be used as "Floating" bus insert sends and returns, thus allowing
digital patching without using up Aux sends and returns. For more information, see page 1-20 in this guide.
Note that, if two DMX-R100s are cascaded together, all DMBK-R109 output slots in the sub console will be
grayed out (unavailable) since they are fixed assignments — they are used to route audio signal via MADI to
the master console. In the master console; signal can be routed to physical MADI outputs, to MTR, AUX, and
PGM buses and to direct outputs; in the sub console, signal can be routed to any of the cascaded MTR, AUX,
and PGM buses, and, from there, to the outside world. For more information, see the section on page E-5
entitled "Cascading Two DMX-R100s."
