The following shows how to use CAT5 twisted pair cable to make serial console cable.
l
Strip 20mm external insulation away from both ends of cable and strip 3mm of core
wire.
l
Solder the core wire to corresponding pin of DB9 plug as required in the table above.
The soldering must be firm and reliable.
l
Install the shell of DB9 and the cable mustn't get loose.
l
The fabrication of terminal RJ45 is the same with the network cable. Pay attention to
the line order.
