2.2. Defrost F unction:
The I deal A ir C G2 D ehumidifier i s f itted w ith a t emperature s ensitive d efrost c ontrol. T he
defrost c ontrol d evice i s d esigned t o p revent i ce b uildup a t l ower o perating t emperatures. I n
some c onditions, t he d efrost d evice m ay n ot b e a ble t o r emove a ll i ce f rom t he e vaporator c oil.
In t hese c ases, t he f an m ay s top r unning t o s hut d own a ir m ovement t o e nhance t he
performance o f t he d efrost m ode.
In s ituations w here y ear r ound h umidity c ontrol i s d esired, t he d ehumidifier u nit w ill h ave
to o perate a cross a w ider r ange o f t emperatures. T he u nit i s p rogrammed t o r estrict d efrost
operation t o t he t imes w hen a mbient t emperature f alls b elow 7 5 d egrees F . T he d efrost c ontrol
sequence i s a s f ollows:

1. When T e i s l ess t han 3 2°F a nd g reater t han 1 05°F, t he c ompressor a nd f an m otor s top w ill
stop w orking.
2. When T e i s b etween 3 2°F a nd 7 5°F:
2.1. Continuous O peration r un t ime i s e quals t o T e x 2 . T he m inimum r un t ime i s
30minutes.
2.2 I f t emperature o f i ndoor c oil i s l ess t han o r e qual t o 2 6°F ( with d etection c ontinuously
for 3 0 s econds o r m ore) a fter c ontinuous o peration r un-­‐time i s r eached, t he u nit w ill
automatically e nter d efrost m ode.
2.3 D efrost m ode b egins w ith e nergizing t he f our-­‐way v alve. 3 0 s econds l ater t he
compressor w ill b egin o peration. T he f an m otor w ill n ot o perate d uring d efrost. T he
compressor w ill r un f or 2 min. A fter t his t ime, t he f our-­‐way v alve w ill c lose. 3 0s l ater t he
compressor a nd f an m otor w ill r eturn t o n ormal o peration.
2.4 I f t emperature o f i ndoor c oil i s g reater t han o r e qual t o 2 6°F, a fter c ontinuous
operation r un-­‐time i s r eached, t he u nit w ill n ot e nter d efrost m ode.
2.5 I f T e > 75°F, t he u nit w ill N OT e nter d efrost m ode.
