TAD/FAX
mode!
(using the built-in answering device and receiving
voice and fax calls automatically)
When the TAD/FAX mode is set, the unit will work as a fax machine and/or answering device.
If a fax call is detected, the unit will automatically receive faxes.
If a voice call is detected, the answering device will play a greeting message and the caller can
leave a voice message.
This unit has no pre-recorded greeting messages. Record your own greeting message first
(p. 57).
Setting up the voice message and document reception

Select "TAD/FAX" in step 4 of feature setting
#05 (p. 45).
If the arrow indicator on the display points to

"TEL", press
RECEIVE MODE
The unit will play the TAD/FAX greeting
message if you record it and the display
will show the following message.
Display:
The remaining time for recording incoming
messages will be played.
Example:
When the remaining time is low, erase
unnecessary messages from memory
(p. 66, 68).
Note:
The total recording time (including greeting messages) is about 20 minutes. If a message is
recorded in a noisy room, the recording time may be shortened.
The recording time for each incoming message can be changed (p. 74).
When a call is received, the unit will play the TAD/FAX greeting message and the display will
show the following message.
Display:
TAD ANSWERING
While an incoming call is being recorded, the other party's voice will be heard through the
speaker. If this feature is not required, set the ICM Monitor feature to "OFF" (p. 75).
To answer the call while playing the greeting message or recording a voice message, press
DIGITAL SP-PHONE
can talk to the other party.
Auto disconnection feature
When an extension telephone is connected, you can answer a call with the extension telephone during the
TAD/FAX greeting playback (p. 53).
