Setting the polling interval
Assigning specific sites to
a server cache
Redirect TCP Packets
To ensure that the server cache remains in contact with the Internet,
a designated URL (defined in the switch port properties dialog) is
periodically polled. The interval between polls is defined here. If a
timeout is experienced, due to the server cache no longer being in
contact, then traffic is redirected to another designated server. If no
server cache is online, then traffic is routed to the Internet router. To
set the polling interval:
1
Select Web Cache Redirection>Setup .
2
Select Forwarding .
3
Type the desired interval (range: 1 to 10 000 seconds).
Note
It is recommended to poll cache servers frequently in
order to ensure connectivity
4
Click OK .
When several very popular sites have their TCP packets redirected to
the same server, the server may become congested. To prevent this,
popular sites can be assigned to separate server caches. To setup a
popular site to a server cache:
1
Select Web Cache Redirection>Setup .
2
Select Forwarding .
