SETTING THE VCR FUNCTIONS

The SELECTION MENU 1 screen allows you to select the VCR operations and functions to match the appli-
cations.

1. Press the START/STOP button.
The REC MODE option "HD" flashes on/off.
2. Press the SET button repeatedly until the item
the setting of which you want to change flashes.
3. Press the UP or DOWN button to select the
value or setting you want.
4. After selecting, press the START/STOP button.
REC MODE (NORMAL or HD)
• "
" appears in the display in the HD mode.
HD
SEARCH SPEED (3, 5, 7 or 9 times the normal speed)
• You can select the visual search speed.
ONE SHOT REC (2, 4, 6, 8 FIELD)
• You can select the number of fields to be recorded during one shot
recording.
Note:
If time/date recording (TIME DATE CODE) 1-4 is selected, the
mode for one-shot recording (number of fields) cannot be changed. To
change the mode for one-shot recording, set the time/date recording to
"OFF".
VIDEO INPUT (Composite or Y/C)
• You can select between the video signals at the VIDEO IN and Y/C
VIDEO IN jacks.

PLAY MODE (AUTO or VHS)
• Specify "VHS" when playing back an S-VHS tape on which a VHS
UD
standard signal is recorded.
TIME DATE CODE (time/date recording)
• 1:
Time/date recording is made with code 1.
• 2:
Time/date recording is made with code 2.
• 3:
Time/date recording is made with code 3.
• 4:
Time/date recording is made with code 4.
• OFF:
No time/date recording is made.
Information:
With code 1, the date/time signal is written to the 19H of video signal.
With code 2, the date/time signal is written to the 22H of video signal.
With code 3, the date/time signal is written to the 12H of video signal.
With code 4, the date/time signal is written to the 33H of video signal.
If code 2 or 4 is selected, noise may appear across the top of playback
picture.
With OFF specified, no date/time signal is written.
BAUD RATE (1200, 2400, 4800, 9600 BAUD)
• You can select the transmission speed with the personal computer.
CAMERA SW
• You can select the timing with which pulses are output to switch the
camera.

The pulses are output during recording at 12 (or 18)
or a longer speed in the NORMAL (or HD) mode.
The pulses are output during recording in all
modes.
The pulses are output during recording at the 02 (or
06) speed in the NORMAL (or HD) mode.
