Playback using the TIME DATE SEARCH function:
1. Insert a cassette recorded in the TIME DATE
SEARCH mode.
2. Press the TIME DATE SEARCH button.
"CASSETTE CHECKING" will flash on the moni-
tor screen.
When checking is finished and the words "CAS-
SETTE CHECKING" disappear, proceed with the
following steps.
The screen for entering the date/time to be
searched will appear.

• The screen displays the date/time when the
inserted cassette was recorded. The above
screen shows that this cassette was recorded
around 3:40:36 p.m. on February 21.
3. Press the START/STOP button.
The month will flash and the words on the fol-
lowing line will disappear.

4. Enter the recorded date and time of the scene
you want to view.
• Press the UP and DOWN buttons to enter the
required numerals.
• Press the SET button to shift to the next digit.
• After
entering

5. Press the PLAY button.
The VCR collates the date/time data you have
entered and the recording data on tape and
starts rewinding or fast forwarding.
The TIME DATE SEARCH function will operate
and "TIME DATE SEARCH" will flash on the
monitor screen.
6. When the VCR locates the scene for which you
entered the date and time, it plays the tape in
the still play mode automatically.
Notes:
• The TIME DATE SEARCH function also operates
with cassettes recorded by another VCR of the
same model.
• The function may not operate with cassettes on
which the tape speed was switched frequently or
recording dates were skipped.
• If the VCR cannot find the recording data written
on the tape which has been recorded in the TIME
DATE SEARCH mode or cannot find the data you
have entered even after the TIME DATE SEARCH
operation has continued for approx. 10 minutes,
it will stop automatically and "ERROR" will
flash.

• Select the "TIME DATE CODE:" you have set for
the time/date recording. If the code is different
from that specified "TIME DATE CODE:", time
date search will not be possible.
If time/date recording is made with "TIME DATE
CODE: 1" specified, time date search will be pos-
sible even with "TIME DATE CODE: OFF".
