5.C. Channel Search
Channel searches are done to update your channel table. New channels may be found
when you do a channel search.
In the "Channel Search" menu, you can select "Advanced Channel Search" or
"Automatic Channel Search".
Automatic Channel Search
Advanced Channel Search
The "Advanced Channel Search" menu allows you to manually enter channel search
parameters that you might find in TV magazines or on the Internet. This can be useful
to find special type of channels that can only be found if the correct search settings are
known.
Frequency: Specify the transponder frequency that you would like to search
by using the number buttons on the remote control. You can also use
and
to move the input focus left and right, for example if you entered
the wrong number.
Bandwidth: Enter the combined bandwidth setting that should be used in
the search by using
and
information capacity of the broadcast.

Select "Automatic Channel Search" if you
would like to do a normal channel search.
All found channels that are new will be
added to the "All channels" channel list.

Transm. Mode: Select the transmission mode that should be used in the

or "8K", and is a measurement of the number of carrier waves in the
combined signal.
Network Search: Select "Yes" if you want to the search to cover all
transponders that are connected to the specified network. Change between
"Yes" and "No" by using
and
buttons.
Set to default values: To reset all values and settings in this view to their
default values, press
.
Start exact channel search: Select this item and press
channel search using the specified parameters.
This is an exact search, it will only use the start Frequency and a Network
Search (If enabled in menu)
New channels
The setting for "New channels" affects the automatic reminders that appear if
the receiver detects new channels in the broadcast. In some regions and
areas, the reminder might erroneously appear even though there are no new
channels, due to differences in the digital TV broadcasts. The factory setting is
"Don't remind". To activate this feature, change to "Remind me". A technical
term for this feature is "NIT/SDT monitoring". (Note: This feature may not be
available on all receiver software versions)
